Jugendorchester “Il Mosaico”

The Jugendorchester “Il Mosaico” is one of the leading youth orchestras in Switzerland. Wherever the orchestra appears, it impresses with its great musical charisma, enthusiasm and high technical ability. In November 1998, an international jury awarded “il mosaico” a “grant for outstanding achievements in the field of serious music” at the International Lake Constance Conference and in May 2000 at the Swiss Youth Orchestra Competition in the “Symphony Orchestra” category. “Il Mosaico” has been headed by Hermann Ostendarp since it was founded and has already given concerts in most of the major cities in Switzerland. La Jugendorchester “Il Mosaico” è una delle principali orchestre giovanili svizzere. Ovunque si esibisca, l’orchestra colpisce per il grande carisma musicale, l’entusiasmo e l’elevata capacità tecnica. Nel novembre 1998 una giuria internazionale ha assegnato a “il mosaico” una “contribuzione per meriti eccezionali nel campo della musica seria” al Convegno Internazionale del Lago di Costanza e nel maggio 2000 al Concorso dell’Orchestra Giovanile Svizzera nella categoria “Orchestra Sinfonica”. “Il Mosaico” è diretta da Hermann Ostendarp sin dalla sua fondazione e ha già tenuto concerti nella maggior parte delle principali città della Svizzera. L’orchestra ha ripetutamente viaggiato in altri paesi europei.

Britten String Youth Orchestra

La Britten Youth String Orchestra è stata fondata nel 2007 da Loes Visser per offrire un’opportunità a tutti i giovani musicisti di strumenti ad arco di sviluppare le proprie abilità musicali in un ambiente stimolante e creativo. Strettamente legata al Conservatorio ArtEZ dei Paesi Bassi, la Britten Youth String Orchestra coltiva progetti artistici con giovani solisti esperti e di talento. Ogni anno l’orchestra si esibisce con i vincitori del concorso nazionale “Britten Violin or Cello Competition”. L’orchestra si è esibita tre volte per la famiglia reale olandese ed è ospite regolare nei teatri olandesi. Ogni anno la Britten Youth String Orchestra va in tournée. L’orchestra è stata invitata a suonare in Italia, Francia, Svizzera e Spagna, vincendo il 1° premio al concorso musicale del Summa Cum Laude Youth Music Festival di Vienna, Austria.
The Britten Youth String Orchestra was founded in 2007 by their conductor Loes Visser. She created the orchestra to provide a platform for young talented string instrument players that want to develop their skill in an inspiring, high level, and musically demanding environment Closely related to the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands,
the Britten Your String Orchestra aims is to perform with young talented soloists and inspiring soloists of more experienced level. Every year the orchestra performs with the winners of the national ‘Britten Violin or Cello competition’. The orchestra has performed three times for the Dutch Royal family and is a regular guest in Dutch theaters and country estate concerts. Every year the Britten Youth String orchestra goes on tour. The orchestra has been invited to play a.o. in Italy, France, Switzerland and Spain and last year it won the 1st price at the music competition of the Summa Cum Laude Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria.

Banda Giovanile La Polverosa

La Polverosa, nasce nel 2007 dall’esperienza musicale della scuola media Verdi del quartiere di San Jacopino di Firenze con il progetto SaràBanda e prende il nome da San Jacopo in Polverosa, antico nome del quartiere. Il progressivo aumento degli iscritti ha portato negli anni ad articolare l’attività musicale dei ragazzi in gruppi diversi a seconda dell’età e delle competenze, con diversi direttori e diversi programmi; ogni gruppo ha avuto modo di esibirsi in varie manifestazioni. La Polverosa si è esibita in varie manifestazioni Yamaha e Festival musicali. Negli ultimi anni ha partecipato ai Concorsi di Talamona, Poggio a Caiano e Scandicci, dove nel 2017 ha ottenuto il 1° Premio nella Categoria Bande Giovanili. Si è inoltre esibita sull’Arengario di Palazzo Vecchio, e ha tenuto concerti in vari luoghi della città, tra i quali Palazzo Gondi e l’Auditorium della Cassa di Risparmio. E’ stata invitata a suonare anche nella Sala del Buonumore del Conservatorio Cherubini e al Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. La sua crescita è stata curata dai maestri Ferruccio Barbetti, Antonio Sicoli e Oreste Gazzoldi. Dal 2014 è diretta dal M° Andrea D’Amico.
La Polverosa was born in 2007 from the musical experience of the Verdi middle school in the San Jacopino district of Florence with the SaraBanda project and takes its name from San Jacopo in Polverosa, the ancient name of the district. The progressive increase in members has led over the years to articulate the musical activity of children in different groups according to age and skills, with different directors and different programs; each group had the opportunity to perform in various events. La Polverosa has performed in several Yamaha events and music festivals. In recent years the band participated in the Talamona, Poggio a Caiano and Scandicci competitions obtaining in 2017 the 1st Prize. La Polverosa performed at some of the most beautiful and prestigious venues of Florence such as the Arengario of Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Gondi, the Auditorium of the Cassa di Risparmio, Sala del Buonumore of the Cherubini Conservatory and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Its growth was supervised by the Maestros Ferruccio Barbetti, Antonio Sicoli and Oreste Gazzoldi. Since 2014 the orchestra has been directed by Maestro Andrea D’Amico.
