La MiVU è un’orchestra sinfonica giovanile nata come orchestra sinfonica amatoriale nei primi anni ’90. L’ obiettivo è lo sviluppo di nuovi talenti, curandone attentamente sia la musicalità che la socialità e la qualità del tempo impiegato per migliorarsi. Sotto la direzione del direttore Christian Hørbov-Meier, la MiVU presenta un programma interessante e vario, ispirandosi al tema della ‘danza’ e per sottolineare lo scambio culturale che avviene al festival, la MiVU ha scelto di inserire opere di compositori sia italiani che danesi. Per questa tournée italiana l’orchestra si arricchisce con la partecipazione della violinista solista italiana Ginevra Tavani che si è già esibita insieme alla MiVU.
MiVU is a symphonic youth orchestra founded in the early 1990’s from an amateur symphonic orchestra. Now MiVU has transformed into a youth orchestra specifically looking to help the development of new talents, carefully curating both musicianship as well as the fellowship that surrounds the music and time spent perfecting it. Under the baton of the conductor, Christian Hørbov-Meier, MiVU presents an interesting and varied program, taking inspiration on a theme of ‘dance’. And to mark the cultural exchange that takes place at festival like this, the orchestra chose to include works by both Italian and Danish composers. To complete the program MiVU is lucky to have the Italian violin soloist Ginevra Tavani

“Les Ministrings de Lausanne” è un’orchestra d’archi fondata nel 2002 da Tina Strinning, insegnante di violino, viola e pedagogia musicale e co-diretta dal professore e violinista jazz Baiju Bhatt. A piedi scalzi e senza spartiti, questi giovani musicisti si esibiscono sul palco in modo molto originale. Le coreografie sono create dagli stessi musicisti. Più volte premiati con menzione speciale al concorso Svizzero di musica per la gioventù, hanno viaggiato dalla Svizzera a Istanbul, Parigi, Budapest, Barcellona ed altre città europee.
“Les Ministrings de Lausanne” is a string orchestra founded in 2002 by Tina Strinning, teacher of violin, viola and musical pedagogy and co-directed by jazz professor and violinist Baiju Bhatt. Barefoot and without scores, the orchestra performs in a very original way. The choreographies are often created by the musicians themselves. L’Orchestra Magister Harmoniae nasce nel 2010 quando l’Associazione Musica Insieme crea una realtà artistica di alto livello con gli allievi della propria Scuola di Musica «Agnese Pogliano». L’orchestra si è esibita in numerosi concerti, anche a scopo benefico e con importanti artisti come Stefano Bollani e Giò di Tonno. Dal 2016 nasce il progetto “LA MUSICA RACCONTA” che ha coinvolto più di mille studenti delle scuole materne, primarie e secondarie di Torino e di Grugliasco e che valorizza l’impegno civile e sociale delle figure di Emanuela Loi e Peppino Impastato: “Musica Vs Mafia”.
The Magister Harmoniae Orchestra founded in 2010 by the Musica Insieme Association creating a high-level artistic reality with the students of its “Agnese Pogliano” Music School. The Orchestra has already performed in numerous concerts, also for charity with important musicians, such as Stefano Bollani and Giò di Tonno. MYO gira il mondo dal 1997 e si è esibita in Germania, Francia e l’Austria.
The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York (MYO) is committed to fostering a community of talented young musicians from Long Island with the opportunity to rehearse and perform choral and orchestral masterworks at the highest possible level with recognised leaders in music education and performance. Founded in 1993 by John C. McNeur, MYO has grown from a 15-piece orchestra to seven orchestras and eight choirs, serving over 750 musicians between the ages of 8 and 18. La Jugendsinfonieorchester Dornbirn viene fondata nel 1981, e conta circa 80 giovani musicisti, tra i 10 e i 18 anni. Dal 2013 la scuola e l’orchestra sono sotto la direzione di Ivo Warenitsch. L’orchestra si è esibita con numerosi concerti in tutta Europa, oltre ad aver partecipato varie volte alla “Jeunesse musicale” in Austria. Inoltre esegue sempre con grande successo, il concerto di Capodanno a Dornbirn. L’orchestra è particolarmente interessata alla promozione ed esecuzione di brani di compositori contemporanei, oltre che a brani musicali di rara esecuzione.
The Dornbirn Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1991 and have around 80 young musicians, aged between 10 and 18 years old. Since 2013 Ivo Warenitsch is the conductor and director of the music school. The orchestra has undertaken numerous concert throughout Europe, and participated many times to the “Jeunesse musicale” in Austria. The New Year’s concert is the highlights of the concert year. The orchestra is particularly concerned in the promotion of contemporary composers and the performance of rarely played orchestral literature.

La Twents Jeugdorkester è composta da studenti tra i 12 e i 20 anni, che provengono dalle scuole di musica nella regione. Ora è una fondazione e collabora attivamente con le scuole locali di Hengelo e Twente. Oltre ai concerti, l’intento della TJSO è quello di offrire ai ragazzi un’esperienza unica attraverso lo scambio con altre orchestre giovanili in Europa, con tournée all’estero che diventano veri e propri viaggi educativi e culturali. Attiva da 18 anni, la TJSO ha un’ottima reputazione sia locale che nazionale. L’orchestra è diretta da Carl Wittrock, che oltre ad avere una grande esperienza come direttore, è anche violinista, clarinettista e compositore.
Twents Youth Symphony Orchestra (TJSO) is composed of students (aged 12 to 20 years) at the Hengelo School of Music, the Kaliber Kunstenschool and private music educators in the region. Besides musical performance, for TJSO the added value of playing in an orchestra is working together and motivating one another while meeting new audiences and fellow musicians. Existing for 18 years, the TJSO has built a good reputation, exchanges with European youth orchestras are essential for the TJSO. This way, a fundament is laid for European awareness, engagement and collaboration. The orchestra is conducted by Carl Wittrock, who has a long experience in conducting, he is also a violinist, clarinet player and composer.

La Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Jaèn, formalmente la Ramon Garay School Orchestra di Jaén (Spagna), nasce nel 2012 come orchestra d’archi e nel 2016 diventa un’orchestra sinfonica. Il progetto si propone di contribuire alla crescita dei giovani musicisti attraverso l’insegnamento di diversi repertori musicali, stimolando contemporaneamente, il rispetto e l’amore per la musica. I musicisti provengono dai conservatori della provincia di Jaén. L’orchestra ha partecipato al Baezafest International Music Festival e al Provencal Festival of Youth Orchestras in France.
The Jaén Youth Orchestra project, formerly the Ramón Garay School Orchestra of Jaén (Spain), emerged in 2012 as a String Orchestra, in 2016 it becomes a Symphony Orchestra. The project seeks to contribute to the transformative growth of young musicians by accompanying them through different orchestral repertoires and fostering company, respect and love for music. The musicians are from different parts of Jaén and study at the professional conservatories. The Orchestra, participated in the Baezafest International Music Festival and to the Provençal Festival of Youth Orchestras in France.

The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, Pennsylvania (YOBC) was founded in 1991 to create opportunities for young musicians to achieve artistic excellence through enriching classical musical experiences. YOBC provides these students with advanced musical training to enhance and supplement their school programs. The core of YOBC’s educational mission is our performance ensemble program, which is designed to challenge and develop the skills of young musicians at every level. Additional enrichment programs include masterclasses, guest artists, chamber music, leadership and community service opportunities, a concerto competition, and international concert tours. The Tees Valley Youth Orchestra is the flagship orchestra of the Tees Valley Music Service, bringing together the best music students from the four boroughs of the north-east England. The orchestra provides all its students with the opportunity to start their first artistic experiences and acts as a springboard for students who are committed to a professional career in music. The orchestra has been on numerous tours abroad, in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic. They also gave a memorable performance of Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony in Newcastle’s King’s Hall and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. The orchestra is conducted by Nicholas Nowicki.

La Jeugd Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar è l’orchestra giovanile del Koninklijke Harmonie Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar (Royal Wind Band Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar), fondata nel 2000 con lo scopo di creare un ponte tra l’apprendimento strumentale e la musica d’insieme in una grande orchestra. Dopo 20 anni, l’orchestra è cresciuta e conta adesso 65 membri di età diverse. Finalmente quest’anno l’orchestra è pronta e felice di poter partecipare al Festival in Toscana. Ogni sabato, l’orchestra si ritrova per provare guidata la bacchetta di Brecht Schepers.
Jeugd Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar is the youth orchestra of the Koninklijke Harmonie Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar (Royal Wind Band Sint-Cecilia Rotselaar), founded in 2000 with the aim to make students learning to play an instrument together in a large orchestra. The orchestra started out with about 15 musicians and after 22 years, the orchestra has grown into a close group of 65 members. Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2020, the orchestra made plans to travel to Italy and take part in the Florence Youth Festival. Unfortunately, the anniversary trip to Italy was postponed not once, but twice due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2022, this merry gang of Belgian musicians is more than ready to finally take the stage in Florence and Montecatini Terme! Every Saturday, the orchestra rehearses under the baton of Brecht Schepers.

La Joven Orquesta de Cuenca, creata nel 1991 da un gruppo di studenti, accoglie giovani musicisti di età compresa tra gli 11 e i 30 anni, provenienti dal Conservatorio “Pedro Aranaz” e dalla Scuola “Ismael Martínez” di Cuenca. L’obiettivo è la formazione e la preparazione professionale dei musicisti, la socialità e lo studio della musica classica. L’orchestra si è esibita già in varie città e paesi. Nel 2013 ha partecipato all’HIYF (UK), nel 2018 al IX Festival Internazionale di Cori e Orchestre di Praga e nel 2019 a Cracovia. L’orchestra ha partecipato al documentario di Alejandro Sanz “El mundo fue”, una raccolta di video di 38 paesi registrati durante la pandemia. Partecipa per la seconda volta al nostro festival a Firenze.
The Joven Orquesta de Cuenca, created in 1991 on the initiative of a group of students, welcomes young musicians aged between 11 and 30, from the “Pedro Aranaz” Conservatory and the “Ismael Martínez” School of Cuenca. The orchestra focuses on the training and professional preparation of musicians, as well as promoting the knowledge of classical music and youth sociability. The orchestra travelled abroad in several countries, joining the HIYF, (UK), the IX International Festival of Choirs and Orchestras of Prague, and Krakow in 2019. The orchestra participated in Alejandro Sanz’s documentary “El mundo fue”, a collection of videos from 38 countries recorded during confinement.

Founded in 2013 as a nonprofit organization, Musicall in 2015 started the Orchestra Program, serving more than 300 children every year. The aim is to reach underserved high and middle school musicians and give a sense to their community service. Orchestra students work directly with highly qualified music educators and performers. In 2017, Maestro Jose Antonio Bornot accepted to join Musicall as conductor, bringing his exclusive and incalculable vast experience. Currently, Musicall is the only Community Organization in the city, allowing all students to partake in meaningful state competitions such as Solo & Ensemble, Allstate, and MPA.

L’orchestra de I Piccoli Musici Estensi nasce dalla scuola Suzuki di Varese dell’Associazione ImmaginArte APS, la cui didattica dal 2004 si basa sul Metodo Suzuki per l’insegnamento della musica in età precoce. Nel 2014 diventa Nucleo del Sistema delle orchestre e dei cori giovanili della Lombardia, e da allora ha realizzato diversi gemellaggi e summer camp in diverse città: Vienna, Istanbul, Milano, Toronto, Göteborg, Zurigo e Atene. L’orchestra dal 2011 ad oggi si è infatti esibita oltre che in Italia anche all’estero: Lugano, Zurigo, Parigi, New York, Toronto, Sofia e Plovdiv, Obninsk, San Pietroburgo e Mosca.
The I Piccoli Musici Estensi orchestra was born from the Suzuki school of Varese of the ImmaginArte APS Association, whose teaching since 2004 has been based on the Suzuki Method for teaching music at an early age. In 2014 it became the core of the Lombardia system of orchestras and youth choirs, and since then it has carried out several twinnings and summer camps in different cities: Vienna, Istanbul, Milan, Toronto, Gothenburg, Zurich and Athens. Since 2011 the orchestra has performed in Italy and also abroad:, in Lugano, Zurich, Paris, New York, Toronto, Sofia and Plovdiv, Obninsk, Saint Petersburg and Moscow.

About 75 talented youngsters (14-21 years old) from all over the country play in the Jeugdorkest Nederland (JON). They all work enthusiastically on a fully-fledged and challenging concert program. JON concerts are characterized by fresh and excellent orchestral playing under the stimulating leadership of permanent conductor Jurjen Hempel. The program includes works by the great masters of classical music as well as contemporary works. Since 2019, the Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and the National Youth Orchestra together form the National Youth Orchestras of the Netherlands (NJON).

The Mannheim Youth Symphony Orchestra (JSOM) was founded by Hanno Haag in 1977. In 1999 the orchestra flourished under Diethard Laxa. JSOM is open to all players who are sufficiently proficient at their instruments to take the challenging program in their stride. La Junge Blaeserphilharmonie Ulm (JBU) nasce nel 2002 dalla Ulm Boys Band.(1961), L’orchestra si è esibita in diversi programmi televisivi e la Wind Band ha vinto molti primi premi importanti: al World Youth Music festival a Zurigo nel 1985, Hamar/Norway nel1987, al Goteborg Music Festival in Svezia nel 1990 e 1992 e all’International Eissteddfod in Stellenbosch/South Africa nel 1999. Molte le tournée di successo all’estero, in Sud Africa, Cina, Spagna, Australia e USA. Dal 1996 è diretta da Josef Christ.
The Junge Blaeserphilharmonie Ulm (JBU) was founded in 2002 from the youth wind orchestra “Ulm Boys’ Band. The orchestra has performed in TV programs several times, and won many first prizes: at the World Youth Music festival in Zurich, in Hamar/Norway at the Goteborg Music Festival/Sweden at the International Eissteddfod in Stellenbosch/South Africa. The orchestra also won the German Orchestra Contest in Wuppertal and came second in Hildesheim and in Ulm. Concert tours took JBU to Hungary, USA, South Africa, Australia. Since 1996, the JBU is conducted by Josef Christ.

L’Orchestra Giovanile della Scuola di Musica Bochum fondata da Guido van den Bosch è diretta dal 1999 da Norbert Koop e accoglie musicisti di età compresa tra 13 ai 23 anni. L’orchestra conta 60 elementi e si è già esibita al Kölner Philharmonie, al Brucknerhaus di Linz, all’auditorium Murcia e al Teatro di Cesena, in Italia, ha inoltre viaggiato in passato negli Stati Uniti, Russia e Israele. Ha partecipato anche al “European Music Festival” di Linz e in Italia ha vinto il concorso per orchestre nel North Rhein-Westphalia.
The Bochum Music School Youth Orchestra was founded by the conductor Guido van den Bosch. Since 1999, Norbert Koop has been conducting the young musicians of the orchestra, aged between 13 and 23. The orchestra has 60 elements and has already performed at the Kölner Philharmonie, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, the Murcia auditorium and the Cesena Theater, Italy, and has also traveled in the past to the United States, Russia and Israel. He also participated in the “European Music Festival” in Linz and in Italy he won the competition for orchestras in North Rhein-Westphalia.

La Quipasseparlà è un’orchestra fondata nel 2009 da un gruppo di circa trenta giovani musicisti con un’attitudine “rock”, diretta allora da Marc Leroy-Calatayud. L’orchestra è completamente gestita e organizzata dai suoi stessi componenti, diventati oggi circa settanta. Il repertorio varia dai classici ai romantici a brani contemporanei. L’intento dell’orchestra è di offrire a un pubblico più vario possibile concerti gratis, in modo da superare il gap sociale normalmente associato alla musica classica. Oggi la direttrice è Laura Linkola che accompagna la Quipassparlà in diversi tour sia in Svizzera che in Europa.
The Orchestre Quipasseparlà was created in 2009, directed at the time by Marc Leroy-Calatayud. The group consisted of thirty or so young students, now around seventy musicians. Its symphonic line-up enables it to perform works from the classical, romantic and modern repertoires. It aims is to offer the most diverse programs possible, participating in the creation of new works and offering free concerts, with the aim of reducing the social elitism often wrongly associated with the classical genre. The orchestra is conducted by Laura Linkola, and perform regularly with other groups in Switzerland and Europe.

La JSO è aperta non solo agli studenti del Conservatorio di Berna, ma anche a tutte le altre scuole di musica del cantone, comprese Köniz, Thun, Biel. L’orchestra ha tenuto concerti in Russia, Bulgaria e Finlandia e, più recentemente, in festival in Ticino e Nord Italia.
Founded in 1987, the JSO — Bern Conservatorium Youth Symphony Orchestra with the aim to offer young musicians between the ages of 14 and 25 the opportunity to play symphonic music at a high level and to expand their knowledge of the repertoire. The JSO is open not only to students of the Bern Conservatorium but also to all other music schools in canton Bern, including Köniz, Thun, Biel etc. The orchestra has played concerts in Russia, Bulgaria and Finland and most recently at festivals in Ticino and Northern Italy.
