La Sandnes kulturskole Ung Symfoni è l’orchestra giovanile della città di Sandnes, nella parte sud-occidentale della Norvegia. La Sandnes kulturskole è anche una scuola comunale di musica e arti. La scuola ha tre orchestre, e la Sandnes kulturskole Ung Symfoni è la più “vecchia”, con giovani musicisti di età compresa tra i 13 e i 20 anni, ed è composta da archi e flauti. Quest’anno l’orchestra conta 40 membri, 36 dei quali parteciperanno a questo tour estivo. L’orchestra ha visitato Germania, Italia, Ungheria, Irlanda e Paesi Bassi. Nel 2019 ha partecipato al Festival Orchestre Giovanili ed è felicissima di parteciparvi anche quest’anno.
Sandnes kulturskole Ung Symfoni (Sandnes School of Culture Young Symphony) is a youth orchestra from the city of Sandnes, in the south-western part of Norway. Sandnes kulturskole is a municipal school of music and arts. The school has three orchestras, and Sandnes kulturskole Ung Symfoni is the “oldest” one, with young musicians aged between 13 and 20. The orchestra consists of string players and flutists. This year the orchestra has 40 members, and 36 of them are joining us on our adventures this summer. We have visited Germany, Italy, Hungary, Ireland and Netherlands. We were participating in Florence Youth Festival in 2019 and are looking forward to attending the festival this year, too.

L’Orchestre des jeunes du Québec è l’unione di tre organizzazioni: l’Orchestre des jeunes du Collège Durocher Saint-Lambert, Harmonie Jeunesse Granby Haute-Yamaska e Collège Sacré-Coeur de Granby. Queste tre entità condividono un progetto artistico e sociale comune per giovani musicisti. Si sono esibite spesso in Québec, (tre volte alla Maison Symphonique de Montréal) oltre a effettuare tournée internazionali nel resto del Nord America e in Europa. Sono liete di unirsi nuovamente per il loro tour musicale europeo nell’estate del 2024.
Orchestre des jeunes du Québec is the union of three organizations: Orchestre des jeunes du Collège Durocher Saint-Lambert, Harmonie Jeunesse Granby Haute-Yamaska and Collège Sacré-Coeur de Granby. These three entities share an artistic and social project for young musicians. They have performed frequently in Québec, (three times at the Maison symphonique de Montréal) as well as touring internationally in the rest of North America and Europe. They are looking forward to joining together again for their European music tour in the summer of 2024.

Galli Musici Youth Orchestra

Nata nel 2020, l’Orchestra Giovanile Galli Musici è un organico insolito. La parte principale è costituita da strumenti ad arco e dal flauto da concerto, ma ci sono anche strumenti come la chitarra classica, il flauto barocco, il basso, le percussioni e l’arpa, ed è composta da 38 membri (28 studenti e 10 insegnanti). L’orchestra ha vinto, meno di 3 anni dopo la sua nascita e dopo l’interruzione forzata delle sue attività durante la pandemia, il 1° premio nella sua categoria al 71° European Musik festival for Young in Belgio. Un vero e proprio incoraggiamento a continuare questa avventura musicale oltre i confini nazionali!
Born in 2020, the Galli Musici Youth Orchestra has unusual instrument cast. The main part consisting of bow instruments and the concert flute, but in use are also instruments like classic guitar, baroque flute, bass guitar, percussion and harp. The Orchestra consists of 38 members (28 students and 10 teachers). The orchestra won less than 3 years after its birth and after the forced cessation of its activities during the pandemic, the 1st award in its category at the 71st European Musik festival for Young in Belgium. A real encouragement to continue this musical adventure beyond its borders!

L’Orchestra Os Violinos è uno dei migliori ensemble musicali giovanili portoghesi. Fondata nel 2003, è composta da 30 violinisti, di età compresa tra i 7 e i 17 anni, selezionati tra gli oltre 200 studenti dell’Accademia musicale di Lisbona, riconosciuta come una delle più prestigiose scuole di violino del Portogallo. Os Violinos hanno partecipato a trasmissioni televisive nazionali, si sono esibiti nelle principali sale da concerto portoghesi, in tutta Europa e anche nella rinomata Orchestra Hall del Chicago Symphony Center, grazie a uno stretto scambio culturale con la Betty Haag Academy di Chicago (USA).
The Orchestra Os Violinos has developed into one of the Portuguese finest youth musical ensembles. Founded in 2003, it is comprised of 30 violinists, from 7 to 17 years old, selected from over 200 students of the Lisbon Music Academy, recognised as one of the most prestigious violin schools in Portugal. Os Violinos have been broadcast on national television shows, performed in the major Portuguese concert venues, all across Europe and also at the renowned Orchestra Hall of the Chicago Symphony Center thamks to a close cultural exchange with the Betty Haag Academy, in Chicago (USA).

La Jugendsinfonieorchester Biel/Bienne è stata fondata nel 2005. I giovani musicisti di Biel/Bienne e dintorni, ricevono un prezioso insegnamento alla loro formazione strumentale regolare così sperimentando anche il potere unificante della musica. Come la città di Biel/Bienne, l’orchestra è bilingue, composta da giovani musicisti di lingua francese e tedesca. Anche le prove sono condotte in entrambe le lingue, francese e tedesco. I partecipanti frequentano diversi corsi d’orchestra, imparando a suonare sotto una direzione musicale professionale, oltre ad avere l’opportunità di incontrare compositori e artisti. I punti salienti della storia dell’orchestra includono tournée di concerti in Svizzera, Belgio e Paesi Bassi, prime mondiali di brani commissionati a compositori regionali e progetti che coinvolgono teatro, danza, canto e poesia.
The youth orchestra of Biel/Bienne was founded in 2005. Young musicians from Biel/Bienne and the surrounding area receive a valuable supplement to their regular instrumental training and can experience the uniting power of music. Like the city of Biel/Bienne, the orchestra is bilingual, made up of young French- and German-speaking musicians. Even rehearsals are conducted in both languages, French and German. Participants go to orchestra camps, learn to play under professional musical direction and have the opportunity to meet composers and artists. Highlights of the orchestra’s history include concert tours in Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, world premieres of music written by regional composers and projects involving theater, dance, singing and poetry.

La tonart Jugendsinfonieorchester è stata fondata nel 1979 dalla Scuola di Musica Mittleres Rheintal e attualmente conta fino a 80 giovani talenti di età compresa tra i 13 e i 19 anni. L’obiettivo principale è di permettere ai giovani musicisti di suonare in un’orchestra professionale e di introdurli a una letteratura orchestrale impegnativa e varia. Dal 1998 Markus Pferscher è il direttore e supervisore. L’orchestra e il suo direttore si distinguono per l’apertura a formati concertistici innovativi e per l’ampio spettro musicale (musica classica, romantica, contemporanea, klezmer, tango, musica da film, gospel, classici pop/rock, musica da balletto, …). Le tournée di concerti hanno permesso ai giovani musicisti di viaggiare in Italia, Corsica, Croazia, Ungheria e Grecia, oltre che in Svezia, Russia, Francia, Svizzera e Stati Uniti.
The tonart Jugendsinfonieorchester was founded in 1979 by the Mittleres Rheintal Music School and currently has up to 80 young talents aged between 13 and 19. The main goal is to allow young musicians to play in a professional orchestra and to introduce them to demanding and varied orchestral literature. Since 1998 Markus Pferscher has been the conductor and supervisor. The orchestra and its director are characterised by their openness to innovative concert formats and the broad musical spectrum (classical, romantic, contemporary music, klezmer, tango, film music, gospel, pop/rock classics, ballet music, …). Concert tours have enabled the young musicians to travel to Italy, Corsica, Croatia, Hungary, and Greece as well as Sweden, Russia, France, Switzerland, and the USA.

Harju County String Orchestra

The Harju County String Orchestra is an Estonian youth orchestra whose repertoire consists of mostly classical music, as well as folk music, jazz, and film music. The orchestra was founded in 2003 when students and teachers in Harju and Rapla counties came together for the first time. The first conductor was Hando Põldmäe. The orchestra gives a dozen concerts annually all over Estonia, and has performed in Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Poland, Sweden, Hungary, Russia, Italy, and France. The continuity of the orchestra is mostly carried by the string teachers of Harju County music schools, who are–along with their more accomplished students–the core of the orchestra. Imre Rohuväli has been chief conductor and artistic director since 2017.
La Harju County String Orchestra, è un’orchestra giovanile estone, il cui repertorio consiste maggiormente in brani classici come anche musica folk, jazz e musiche da film. L’orchestra è stata fondata nel 2003, quando gli studenti e i professori delle contee di Harju e Rapla, si sono uniti. L’orchestra si esibisce regolarmente durante l’anno scolastico, ed è stata in tournée in Austria, Bulgaria, Finlandia, Polonia, Svezia, Ungheria, Russia, Italia e Francia. L’insegnamento quotidiano è tenuto principalmente dagli insegnanti di archi della scuola di musica ad Harju, che sono, con i loro studenti, il fulcro principale dell’orchestra. Imre Rohuväli è il direttore artistico dal 2017.

La Malta Youth Orchestra (MYO) è stata fondata nel 2004 da Michael Laus, il suo attuale direttore musicale. Lo scopo dell’Orchestra Giovanile di Malta (MYO) è di impegnarsi a valorizzare le capacità dei giovani musicisti maltesi di talento, offrendo loro l’opportunità di incrementare le proprie ambizioni di futuri musicisti d’orchestra professionisti. La MYO trasmette professionalità ai suoi giovani musicisti attraverso prove regolari, workshop, masterclass ed esibizioni con tutor e direttori maltesi e internazionali. L’orchestra esegue regolarmente una vasta gamma da repertorio orchestrale che abbraccia diversi stili e generi, e si esibisce spesso insieme ai professionisti della Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Malta Youth Orchestra (MYO) was founded in 2004 by Michael Laus, its current music director. The Malta Youth Orchestra (MYO) strives to enhance the skills of Malta’s talented young musicians, providing them with opportunities to cultivate their ambitions as future professional orchestra musicians. The MYO instils a sense of professionalism in its young musicians through regular rehearsals, workshops, masterclasses, and performances with Maltese and international tutors and conductors. The MYO regularly performs a wide range of orchestral repertoire spanning different styles and genres. They often perform together with professionals from the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

La Beijing No. 20 Middle School Wind Ensemble è stata fondata nel luglio 1996 da Wu Gang, che da allora ne è il direttore stabile. L’ensemble ha visitato più di 10 Paesi sia in Asia, in America che in Europa. Dal 2001, l’ensemble di fiati ha partecipato a tutti i concorsi per ensemble di fiati del “Beijing Haidian District Student Art Festival”, ha vinto diversi premi in concorsi per ensemble e concorsi per solisti. Nel 2019, è stata fondata da Sang Tiantian l’Orchestra cinese che suona con strumenti tradizionali, parte della stessa scuola. Ha vinto più di 10 premi in festival artistici tra cui nel 2023 la medaglia d’oro nella loro categoria al “Festival nazionale di musica etnica”.
The Beijing No. 20 Middle School Wind Ensemble was founded in July 1996 by Wu Gang, who has been its permanent director ever since. The ensemble has visited more than 10 countries in Asia, America and Europe. Since 2001, the Wind Ensemble has participated in all the Wind Ensemble competitions of the ‘Beijing Haidian District Student Art Festival’. At the same time, it has won several prizes in ensemble and soloist competitions. In 2019, the Chinese Orchestra of the same school was founded by Sang Tiantian. It won more than 10 awards in art festivals including in 2023 the gold medal in its category at the ‘National Ethnic Music Festival’.

La Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra è nata nel 1951 come Merseyside Youth Orchestra. Generazioni di musicisti ne hanno fatto parte, tra cui molti della Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra e artisti del calibro di Sir Simon Rattle, direttore d’orchestra di fama mondiale, che ne è il patrono onorario. Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company’s flagship auditioned symphony orchestra. It offers orchestral and performance experience to advanced young musicians, aged 13-21 years playing at a Grade 7 and higher standard. Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra started life in 1951 as the Merseyside Youth Orchestra. Generations of musicians have taken part, including many current Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra players and the likes of the world-famous conductor, Sir Simon Rattle who is their Honorary Patron. Youth Orchestra members are tutored by, rehearse, and perform alongside musicians from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, benefitting from their professional expertise and experience.

La banda giovanile tedesca di fiati “Junge Bläserphilharmonie Ulm” (JBU) si è esibita più volte in televisione e ha registrato finora otto CD. Al 6° World Youth Music Festival di Zurigo, nel luglio 2005, la JBU ha ottenuto il sensazionale punteggio di 354,5 punti su 360, aggiudicandosi così il primo premio nella categoria superiore. Nel 2008, la Junge Blaeserphilharmonie Ulm ha vinto il German Orchestra Contest di Wuppertal nella propria categoria e si è classificata seconda a Hildesheim nel 2012 e a Ulm nel 2016. Le tournée di concerti hanno portato la JBU in molti Paesi, non solo in Europa, ma anche negli Stati Uniti, in Sudafrica, in Cina e in Australia.

Instituto Kwapisz Youth String Orchestra

L’Instituto Kwapisz, fondato nel 2009, è una scuola con sede a Città del Messico che ha la missione di sviluppare il potenziale umano attraverso una formazione musicale di alto livello. L’orchestra d’archi giovanile dell’Instituto Kwapisz è uno dei progetti principali della scuola, che mira a promuovere lo sviluppo culturale della nostra società e a fornire a studenti, ex allievi e giovani musicisti che desiderano continuare la loro formazione, esperienze uniche e significative. L’orchestra è diretta da Sebastian Kwapisz, concertmaster dell’Orchestra Filarmonica dell’UNAM di Città del Messico. Oggi l’orchestra, composta in media da 17 giovani musicisti di 16 anni, si è posizionata come una delle più importanti orchestre d’archi giovanili del Messico e ha tenuto circa 50 concerti dalla sua fondazione.
The Instituto Kwapisz founded in 2009 is an educational institution based in Mexico City whose mission is to develop human potential through high-level musical training. The Instituto Kwapisz youth string orchestra is one of the main projects of the school aiming to promote the cultural development of our society and provide students, alumni and young musicians who wish to continue their training, unique meaningful experiences. The orchestra is conducted by Sebastian Kwapisz, concertmaster of the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra in México City. Today the orchestra, made up of 17 young musicians of 16 years of age on average, has positioned itself as one of the most outstanding youth string orchestras in Mexico, and has given around 50 concerts since its founding.
